	Acratech http://acratech.net Acratech is the maker of the small but sturdy Ultimate Ball Head, a reasonably good option for hiking or backpacking if you can get used to the unconventional design.

	Gitzo tripods http://www.gitzo.com/ Gitzo tripods are acknowledged by professionals the world over as setting the industry's standards for excellence. For tripod legs, there is no substitute. Get an Arca-Swiss B1 instead of a Gitzo head though. Distributed in the US by Bogen.
	Kirk Enterprises http://www.kirkphoto.com/ Kirk's plate designs used to be nothing but direct copies of RRS originals, but they have improved a lot of late and are now well worth checking out. Kirk also offers a number of other good products including their BH-1 and BH-3 ball heads.

	Markins Professional Ballheads http://www.markins.de/en/ Located in South Korea, Mr. BI Mah makes some of the very best Arca-Swiss compatible ballheads. Highly recommended.
	Newtech Machine Co. http://www.newtechmachineco.com Another good source for inexpensive Arca-Swiss compatible plates and accessories. Not as custom fit as those made by Kirk and Really Right Stuff though.
	Really Right Stuff http://www.reallyrightstuff.com/ Really Right Stuff offers optimized Arca-Swiss style mounting plates for 35mm, medium format, and view cameras - and for just about anything else that has a tripod collar. They also have a wonderful array of other finely crafted pieces of aircraft aluminum for use with the Arca-Swiss system. They used to definitely be the best but Kirk has improved a lot in the last couple of years. I still have an RRS plate on most everything I own except my toothbrush.

The manufacturer famous for the Wimberly head and its little sidekick the Sidekick, Wimberly has been slowly expanding into other innovative accessories.
